Clare O'Brien is a rising ninth-grade student at Myers Park High School in the Honors Program.  Clare has played lacrosse for three years; most recently she was starting attack for Holy Trinity Catholic Middle School.  In addition to lacrosse, Clare is a competitive tennis player.  She is a member of LeadersNow, an organization that provides leadership training for young women through volunteering.  In her free time, she enjoys wake-boarding and spending time with family and friends.

Abby is an 8th grade honor student at Bailey Middle School in Cornelius, NC.  She began playing lacrosse in the 6th grade under the guidance of former Marist College player and team captain Coach Maria Reoch Kertesz and is very excited to begin another season with the Queen City Stars.  Since joining the Queen City Stars, Abby has raised her level of play considerably and has taken her dedication and passion for the sport to a new level.  Abby has attended numerous camps and clinics, and played throughout the summer with the Stars and also a local women’s group comprised of current high school players, past and present college players, and local coaches.

Off the lacrosse field, Abby is a member of the Lake Norman Teen Council and the French Club. She does volunteer work for the Children’s Miracle Network, and also helps raise awareness for children with congenital heart defects. Abby is consistently on the honor roll and in her free time, she enjoys wakeboarding, playing tennis, and reading. Her goal is to play division one lacrosse for a college or university which has both strong academic and lacrosse programs.

Meredith Ellis is in 8th Grade at Alexander Graham Middle School.  She will be going to Myers Park High School in the Fall.  Meredith has played lacrosse for 3 years as a Midfielder and Attacker.

During her eighth grade season on Alexander Graham's team, Meredith was nominated captain.  She has attended Queen's Camps during the summer.

Sara is rising 9th grade student and will be attending Lake Norman Charter High School in Huntersville, NC.     She began playing lacrosse in 3rd grade and was one of the youngest players on the middle school CHYL team.    She has attended various local camps and has been a dedicated CHYL player.     In the past she has played goalie and attack before settling in on defense.   Sara has also participated on the middle school cross country and basketball team.   She is very excited to be on a summer lacrosse team to improve her skills and play at a different level.   She is very excited for it to start.

Lauren moved to North Carolina this summer and is a rising 8th grader at Bailey Middle School in Cornelius, NC.  Lauren is originally from Long Island, NY where she began playing lacrosse in the third grade for her hometown Seaford PAL team.

As a member of the Seaford team, Lauren immediately developed a natural skill as a goalie and has been playing the starting position ever since.  For several years she attended the One-on-One Academy of Goaltending at CW Post College in New York where she was fortunate to have been coached by Jim Mule former Asst Coach of the Philadelphia Barrage and 1999 USA World Cup Team Goalie as well as Sal Locascio, National Lacrosse Hall of Fame Goaltender and former MLL Head Coach of the Philadelphia Barrage.  Lauren has also been a perennial team representative at the annual Lacrosse Jamboree at Farmingdale State College.  She was the starting goalie for the Seaford Middle School lacrosse team in the seventh grade before relocating to North Carolina where she posted a 7-1 record and an impressive 84% save percentage. 

Lauren is and honor student who has been the recipient of two Academic Sport Scholar Awards.  When she is not playing lacrosse Lauren enjoys spending time with friends and showing her school spirit.  She dedicates a lot of her time volunteering and loves to work with children.  She hopes to play college lacrosse while studying to be an elementary school teacher.  For now she is thrilled to be a part of the Queen City Stars lacrosse team.
